Macro funds were among the hedge fund performance champs in the first quarter.
The HFRI Macro (Total) Index surged 5.54 percent in March, bringing its gain for the quarter to 7.71 percent. Many individual funds fared much better.
Of course, Haidar Jupiter Fund’s 148 percent first-quarter gain is an otherworldly outlier.
