Tiger Funds Made Big Bets in First Quarter

Coatue, D1, and Maverick are among funds that established big new positions.

A number of Tiger Management descendants made several major changes to their U.S. stock portfolio in the first quarter.

They either established several new positions that instantly ranked among their largest positions, sharply boosted major stakes, or did both.

These moves are especially significant given that the top five and top-ten holdings often dominate the portfolios of these hedge funds — sometimes called Tiger Cubs, Tiger Seeds, and Tiger Grandcubs because of their ties to Tiger Management founder Julian Robertson Jr.
