After a Tough 2018, Third Point Fared Better Last Year

Dan Loeb’s multistrategy fund posted double-digit gains but was hurt by short bets and Argentinian sovereign debt.

Dan Loeb’s Third Point Offshore last year rebounded sharply from its double-digit loss in 2018.

The hedge fund gained 17.1 percent in 2019 after finishing the year with a 2.2 percent gain in December, according to the firm’s December report to clients.
