Hedge Funds Sharply Curtail Private Investments

Hedge funds that were once active in private markets, including Tiger Global, have continued their slow pace of investing in the third quarter.

Tiger Global Management has all but disappeared from the private markets.

The Tiger Cub, co-headed by Chase Coleman and Scott Shleifer, made just six new investments in start-ups in the third quarter, according to Crunchbase. Altogether, the firm has made only 27 new investments over the first three quarters of the year.
