Institutional Investor magazine hosted the 8th Annual Hedge Fund Industry Awards on Monday evening, June 21. Over 550 hedge fund executives, institutional investors and industry professionals attended the dinner, held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York. Tiger Management Corp. founder Julian Robertson Jr. was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award in recogntion of his three-decade-long career in the hedge fund industry. Boston Provident Partners founder and chairman of the New Jersey State Investment Council Orin Kramer was the Outstanding Contribution honoree for his work with the New Jersey pension system, as well as for his broader contribution to the public pension fund community. Winners of the Hedge Fund Industry awards included New York State Common Retirement Fund, which was named Large Public Plan of the Year, and Highbridge Capital Management, which took home the prize as Institutional Hedge Fund Firm of the Year.
