Christian Audi & team Santander
In third place for a third straight year is the Santander duo steered by Christian Audi out of New York. “He came out with really compelling research this year on ethanol,” recalls one fund manager. Another salutes the team for its “great job in a tailored research note” explaining the role of the Brazilian government in corporate governance at Petróleo Brasileiro, or Petrobras.
In October the researchers highlighted their underperform rating on Lupatech, at R25.99, citing concern over the Brazilian oil-service company’s apparent inability to improve its operating results. The stock tumbled 16.8 percent, to R21.62, through July, and trailed the sector by 4.4 percentage points.
