The New Hampshire Retirement System (NHRS) has named Lawrence Johansen as the manager to the fund’s investment portfolio, IM Weekly reports. In the new role, Johansen will head the NHRS Board of Trustees and Independent Investment Committee on all investment issues for its $5 billion trust fund.
Johansen will join in January 2010 and will succeed Richard Shafer, who quit the plan earlier in 2009 to join the Ohio Public Employees’ Retirement System. Prior to this, Johansen worked at New York State Teacher Retirement System. The system sought the assistance of EFL Associates in the search.
