GMAC Financial Services has appointed Michael Carpenter as CEO, GMAC Financial Services reports. In the new role, Carpenter will oversee strategic and operational changes, which will help the firm focus on the auto finance and associated businesses.
He succeeds Alvaro de Molina, who has stepped down from his role as CEO and director. Carpenter has previously worked at Citigroup’s Global Corporate & Investment Bank, Salomon Smith Barney, Travelers Life & Annuity, Kidder Peabody, GE Capital, General Electric and Boston Consulting Group.
