Global asset management consultant Russell Investments has appointed Heath Mottram and David Hickey as directors of fiduciary management operations, Financial News reports. Mottram is former head of investment and funding of Royal Mail Pension Plan, while Hickey previously headed U.K. and Ireland pension origination at Barclays Capital.
Russell Investments is seeking to position itself as a global investment firm and is taking steps to re-establish, strengthen its global consulting business and revive its fund-of-funds business. The firm has also hired two dozen people for its alternatives business in 2011 and developed prevailing European indices, small-cap indices, exchange-traded funds and a website for independent financial advisers.
