Chinese copper producer Jiangxi Copper has formed a trading unit in Shanghai in partnership with a Chinese company and a Hong Kong firm, Reuters reports. The Chinese firm has further partnered with major firms, such as BHP and Codelco.
The unit’s trading partners also include China’s second-largest copper producer Tongling Nonferrous and Minmetals Nonferrous Metals, a client of Codelco. Jiangxi Copper’s own trading unit will target copper concentrate trade in the future, while the trading venture in Shanghai will trade metal.
