E.ON’s U.K. power grid has received bids from MidAmerican Energy Holdings, PPL and Cheung Kong Infrastructure (CKI) for its proposed sale, Bloomberg reports. The U.K. electricity lines are estimated to be worth about $6 billion.
The German utility is seeking to sell $20.5 billion of assets by the end of 2013 to reduce debt and raise funds for growth outside Europe. E.ON had earlier rejected a bid by a group led by the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board.
