Nissan Motor is seeking to acquire more than 25% stake of Russian automobile manufacturer, AvtoVAZ, Bloomberg reports. The Japanese carmaker will buy the AvtoVAZ shares to secure control of the Russian carmaker with partner, Renault. Nissan is in discussions with AvtoVAZ shareholders, Troika Dialog and Russian Technologies, to buy the stake over several years. The buyer will pay an amount close to the market price for a 25% stake, which is currently $350 million.
