U.K. lender HSBC Holdings has reshuffled senior asset management (AM) positions, Financial News reports. John Flint, CEO of HSBC’s fund management unit HSBC Global Asset Management (HSBC GAM), will be chief of staff to the U.K. bank’s group CEO Stuart Gulliver starting 2012.
Sridhar Chandrasekharan, head of wholesale marketing at HSBC GAM, will replace Flint as head of the asset management division. Flint will also assume the responsibilities for HSBC’s group strategy and scheduling from Antonio Simoes, the present head of planning. Simoes will be taking up a newly created role as head of HBSC’s retail banking and wealth management for Europe and will be reporting to Paul Thurston, the division’s chief executive.
