Nigeria will commence a foreign exchange forwards auction with authorized dealers, Bloomberg reports. The minimum bid required for the auction will be $500,000 for a period of one, two or three months. The dealers will only be permitted to sell the forwards bought from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Separately, Abuja-based CBN has sold $400 million of foreign currency in its twice-weekly auction, while lenders demanded $584 million.
