Video site ViKi has raised $20 million in series B round of venture capital financing. Strategic investors SK Planet, a subsidiary of SK Telecom, and BBC Worldwide along with existing investors Greylock Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Charles River Ventures and Neoteny Labs took part in the investment round. ViKi is an international video site whose viewers number more than 10 million, and has an active community of translators.
The company aims to use the proceeds for product development, key appointments and to secure new global content partnerships. Greg Park, executive vice president of SK Planet, will be joining ViKi’s board of directors. The other outside director is Joichi Ito, general partner of Neoteny Labs, who is also on the board of MIT Media Lab.
