MEFF Power, MEFF’s new service for the electricity market, will begin operations on March 21 and offer central counterparty (CCP) services for OTC energy derivatives, Mondovisione reports. Settlement and management of risks and margins for electricity futures will be carried out within MEFF’s current CCP, through the development of an energy segment, called MEFF Power. The contracts traded will be reported to MEFF, which will serve as the counterparty for the buyer and the seller. The MEFF Power initiative is part of BME’s strategy to expand and provide new services to the business and financial community.
