Stephen Melton has joined financial holding company Ameris Bancorp and its wholly owned banking unit Ameris Bank as executive vice president and chief risk officer. He will work from the company’s corporate office in Moultrie, Georgia.
Milton has been a banker for 30 years. Before joining Ameris Bancorp, Melton was CEO, president and COO of Columbus Bank and Trust Co., regional CEO of Synovus, chair of the finance committee at CB&T and trustee of the Synovus Foundation.
