KKR has partnered with Italian energy company Sorgenia to produce wind energy in France through a joint venture, Financial Times reports. Both the companies will have an equal share in the joint venture with Sorgenia managing operations. The move is the private-equity firm’s first European investment in renewable energy. The agreement is based on an enterprise value of about $342 million. The joint venture’s assets will include about 153 megawatts of wind production capacity that Sorgenia has already built and 95 megawatts in an advanced stage of development.
