BNDES has provided $285 million of financing in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul for eight wind farms, The Wall Street Journal reports. Three wind farms started operating a year earlier, while the remaining will be operational by September 2013.
The Brazilian national development bank has already granted over $2.8 billion in financing for wind power since 2005. It intends to offer $2.67 billion more in financing.
