The government of India is planning to release a $154 million ad hoc payment tranche to Air India, Economic Times reports. India has already paid $109 million on account of VVIP travel and evacuation flights carried out by the airline. An amount of $81 million has already been raised by the government from some ministries and departments on account of operating chartered VVIP flights. The airline has outstanding loans and dues of $14.7 billion.
