Soros Fund Management has appointed Scott Bessent as its CIO, Financial News reports. He will be responsible for investing about $25 billion for George Soros. He will be head of asset allocation and sizing the biggest trades, managing internal teams, choosing and monitoring external money managers, risk management, putting on hedges and making tactical investments. Bessent replaces Keith Anderson, who left in July. Most recently, Bessent was director of research and strategy at Protege Partners. He had headed the Soros firm’s London office between 1991 and 2000.
