Citigroup Names Citibank Chairman

New York–based multinational financial services corporation Citigroup has named incumbent director Michael O’Neill as chairman of its primary banking subsidiary Citibank.

New York–based multinational financial services corporation Citigroup has named incumbent director Michael O’Neill as chairman of its primary banking subsidiary Citibank, The Wall Street Journal reports. O’Neill takes up his new responsibilities from Jerry Grundhofer, who left the board early this year to join the board of Santander Holdings USA, the U.S. subsidiary of Banco Santander of Madrid. A risk and return expert, O’Neill has previously worked at financial services provider Barclays as CEO and at Honolulu-based Bank of Hawaii Corp. as chairman and CEO. He has also served at Continental Bank and Bank of America Corp.
