Provider of private banking and trustee services HSBC Private Bank has selected Bernard Rennell as CEO for North Asia, The Asset reports. Based in Hong Kong, he will be in charge of its all private banking activity in North Asia, including Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan and the Philippines.
Rennell came to HSBC in Asia-Pacific in July 2000 as private wealth services head of Bank of Bermuda, now known as HSBC Bank Bermuda. Besides being a securities lawyer, he was chairman of the Hong Kong branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the Hong Kong Trustees’ Association. At present, he is also a member of the advisory boards of a number of public and private charitable and philanthropic foundations.
