GLG Partners has appointed Jeffrey Atherton as senior portfolio manager for its Japan CoreAlpha team, Financial Times reports. In his new role, Atherton will be reporting to Japanese equities head of the U.S. global hedge fund sponsor, Stephen Harker.
Effective from March 21, Atherton will work alongside senior portfolio manager, Neil Edwards and Japan team consultant, Robert Brooke, in managing portfolios, including the U.K. domiciled £1.1billion Japan CoreAlpha fund and the Ireland-based £490 million Japan CoreAlpha Equity fund. He is joining from Stratton Street Capital, where he was a partner and co-manager of Japanese equity strategies.
