New York-based fund provider, Van Eck, is launching an Asia ex-Japan bond fund, Index Universe reports. The fund will track through representative sampling the Asia ex-Japan Aggregate Bond Index, which comprises sovereign and corporate bonds denominated in either U.S. dollars or local currencies issued in Asia.

The index consists of securities from China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand. The new fund will target Asia in a strategy unlike the WisdomTree Asia Local Debt ETF that has gathered $259 million in assets in less than two months.
