Brookfield Investment Management has appointed Mark Whitford and Cesar Avila for its insurance asset management team, Banking Business Review reports. Based in New York, Whitford will focus on new business development and investment strategy. Previously, he served at Conning’s insurance advisory group and has also worked with United Health Care, GE Insurance Solutions and Prime Advisors. Avila will oversee municipal bond research within the insurance asset management group, similar to his prior role with Moody’s Investors Service.
