Dutch financial services group, Aegon, is planning to exit India’s mutual fund industry, Economic Times reports. The firm is in talks with capital market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India to surrender its operation license.
Aegon had acquired the license in October 2008 to start an asset management venture with New Delhi-based Religare Enterprises. Aegon has not yet launched any mutual fund product in India.
