Gree has acquired OpenFeint, a U.S. mobile game platform operator, for $104 million, The Wall Street Journal reports. The Tokyo-based company is using cash to fund the acquisition, adds Bloomberg.
Gree has bought all the shares of OpenFeint, which has about 75 million users around the world for its gaming platform for smartphones. The deal, which is part of Gree’s strategy to seek overseas growth through tie-ups and acquisitions, was completed on April 22, 2011.
