Symantec has rolled out the Allscripts Privacy & Security Risk Assessment tool. The tool, which is available exclusively via Allscripts, automates the paper-based process of assessing a medical practice’s privacy and security risks.

The tool is designed to help physicians qualify for federal incentives for Electronic Health Record adoption as per the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Physicians, who apply for Medicare and Medicaid incentives under ARRA, must demonstrate that their practices meet the security requirements under the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act.
