The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission is mulling its options in the event the agency does not receive a proposed 50% increase in its budget for overseeing the over-the-counter derivatives market, reports Reuters.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission is mulling its options in the event the agency does not receive a proposed 50% increase in its budget for overseeing the over-the-counter derivatives market. Scott O’Malia, a Republican commissioner on the CFTC, said his colleagues have raised the possibility of asking private industry regulators, such as the National Futures Association, to take a more active role in policing the market.
