BlackRock has appointed Marco Antonio Slim Domit as a member of its board. He is chairman and CEO of Grupo Financiero Inbursa, the Mexico City–based financial services firm that provides banking and related services. The addition brings the number of members on BlackRock’s board to 17, including 10 who are independent and not affiliated with the company. He also serves as president of the Carlos Slim’s health institute, vice chairman of the board of Impulsora del Desarrollo y el Empleo en America Latina and a board member of various other companies in Latin America.
