Gary Lehrman
Lombard Odier Investment Managers
As the special-situations portfolio manager with Lombard Odier Investment Managers in New York, Gary Lehrman was a major contributor to the 2009 performance of the firm’s flagship multistrategy fund, 1798 Fundamental Strategies, which was up more than 50 percent that year.
Recently, Lombard Odier began raising outside money for a separate special-situations fund managed by the 38-year-old Lehrman, who has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA in business administration from the University of North Carolina.
Lehrman joined Lombard Odier in 2008 as part of the original team assembled by 1798 CIO Aziz Nahas. Two years before, when he was global head of equities for JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s proprietary trading business, Nahas had been impressed by Lehrman, then a special-situations portfolio manager at the bank. When forming his own fund, Nahas was quick to give him a call.
