Union Bancaire Privee has acquired the Swiss business of ABN Amro Bank, The Wall Street Journal reports. The Swiss private bank has not disclosed the financial details of the transaction.
The acquisition will increase the buyer’s asset base by around 20% and strengthen its presence in Switzerland. Amro Bank (Switzerland) had €11 billion in client assets under management at the end of the first quarter of 2011, adds Reuters.
