Independent fund management company Martin Currie has appointed current charity fund manager Ross Watson to run its European fund, Financial Times reports. The company will convert its £17 million European fund to a European Income fund after getting regulatory approval.
The move comes as manager Eric Woehrling has stepped down. Palaniappan Chidambaram and Watson will now jointly manage the European fund. The group also plans to shut its £18 million Pan European Alpha fund, which has lost 7.1 percent in the one year to September 16.
