Several top executives of real estate money manager Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing have left the company, Pensions & Investments reports. Former co-head of Morgan Stanley Real Estate’s Prime Property Fund David Morrison quit in September to join CB Richard Ellis Investors as head of global strategy. Hugh Macdonnell, head of Morgan Stanley’s Special Situations fund also exited the firm the same month to start work at Clarion Partners.
The resignations come in the wake of two senior personnel leaving the company. Owen Thomas, chairman of Morgan Stanley Real Estate and CEO of the parent’s Asia business, superannuated from the firm in July and vice chairman Jay Mantz left the company in January. The firm has not disclosed any plans to name new persons as chairman and vice chairman.
