Richard Breeden, chairman of hedge fund, Breeden Capital Management, will leave H&R Block, The Wall Street Journal reports. Breeden, who serves as chairman and director of the U.S. tax preparer, will step down on April 18.
Breeden, who owns nearly 5% of the company, took over as chairman in November 2007, adds Reuters. Formerly, he was chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission. H&R Block is not seeking to appoint a successor.
