Newton-based CommonWealth REIT is acquiring New Orleans’ skyscraper One Shell Square for $107 million, The Wall Street Journal reports. The office building will be purchased from MetLife.
The real estate investment trust will partly fund the deal by selling new shares. Evan Stone of Jones Lang LaSalle represented MetLife in the transaction. The building is partly occupied by energy and petrochemicals group Royal Dutch.
