David Einhorn will acquire a $200 million minority stake in baseball team, New York Mets, Reuters reports. The founder and president of hedge fund, Greenlight Capital, is in discussions with the Mets ownership, led by real estate developer, Fred Wilpon.
The deal is subject to the approval of Major League Baseball, the sport’s governing body and is expected to be completed in June. Einhorn’s investment is personal and will not involve Greenlight Capital.
