Oregon Investment Council, manager of the Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund, is likely to invest $2 billion each year in private equity through 2012, Pensions & Investments reports. The commitment is part of the council’s new private equity investment plan, prepared by Pension Consulting Alliance.
The council will allocate $2.3 billion annually in 2013 and 2014 and $2.5 billion annually in 2015 and 2016. As of June 30, 57.3% of the portfolio was invested in leveraged buyouts, above the 51.4% average allocation of other large public pension funds.
