Unilever Sells €672M Unit To Colgate

Colgate-Palmolive will acquire Sanex, the personal care unit of Unilever, for €672 million, The Wall Street Journal reports. As per the agreement, the New York-based company will also sell its laundry-detergent business in Colombia to Unilever for €152.6 million. London-based Unilever sold the Sanex portfolio to get the European Commission’s clearance for its €1.28 billion purchase of Sara Lee’s personal-care unit. The Sanex deal is expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter, adds The New York Times.
