Wellcome Trust Changes Funding Program

U.K.’s Wellcome Trust has moved towards a productive funding program.

U.K.’s Wellcome Trust has moved towards a productive funding program, Science Magazine reports. The independent charity will offer grants to some scientific funding bodies using money freed up by terminating smaller programs.

The trust declared in 2009 that it plans to phase out several long-running funding streams. The move was designed to free up around £110 million annually for a new program that rewarded a smaller group of scientists.
