The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) will roll out a coking coal swap futures contract on July 25, Reuters reports. The new offering, which will be listed on the New York Mercantile Exchange, will be cleared through CME ClearPort.
The unit will get added to CME’s other steel-related contracts, including ferrous scrap cost-and-freight Turkey swap and U.S. Midwest hot-rolled steel. The contract will be settled against Platts indexes.
