Tunisia has secured a new $500 million loan from the African Development Bank (AFDB), Reuters reports. The financing is part of a $1.4 billion in emergency funding for Tunisia provided by the World Bank, the European Union and the French development agency.
The African nation seeks to use the proceeds from the loan to support its budget. According to AFDB president Donald Kaberuka an additional $500 million will be in place by the end of the year.
