Global private equity firm Advent International Corp. has added Thomas Ryan to its operating partner program. He will be responsible for directing and working along with the firm’s investment professionals to spot attractive opportunities and generate post-investment value at retail and healthcare companies globally. Presently, Ryan is a director on the board of Yum Brands, a U.S. Fortune 500 corporation. Previously, he was chairman and CEO of CVS Caremark Corp. He joined it in 1974 and helped convert the drug store chain into a national pharmacy services company with $100 billion in revenue last year. Advent’s operating partner program includes more than 80 senior industry executives, many of whom have been involved in multiple Advent investments.
