The Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) is seeking to increase its investments in large cap stocks, real estate and hedge funds, Global Pensions reports. The pension fund plans to curb down its holdings in fixed-income and currency.
The retirement system seeks that U.S. equity markets provide better values than bonds. TRS disclosed around 53% of its holdings in equities, including $4.1 billion in large-cap U.S. stocks as of September 30, 2010.
