SIFMA Seeks To Delay Derivatives Regs

The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association plans to ask the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to delay implementation of most derivatives provisions under the Dodd-Frank Act from going into effect automatically on July 16. In a draft letter to the SEC, SIFMA cites concerns over roughly 50 automatic provisions, which the trade group claims are creating confusion in the industry.
