Telekomunikacja Polska (TPSA) is offloading radio and TV signals transmitter, TP Emitel, to Montagu Private Equity for $599 million, Financial Times reports. The deal, which is awaiting approval from the regulators, is part of France Telecom unit’s plan of divesting its non-core assets. Emitel has a book value of $175.01 million, which will let TPSA book an additional $420.1 million in gross income for 2011. Montagu is planning to help Emitel complete investments in digital terrestrial broadcasting, which next year could cover the entire population of Poland, adds Bloomberg. The private equity fund will also expand usage of Emitel’s network by mobile phone operators.
