EDF Trading and Credit Agricole have appointed Haakon Olafsson as head of trading for their joint venture, Bloomberg reports. Olafsson was previously working with the Credit Suisse Group as the head of trading for European power and natural gas. Olafsson also held senior role at Lehman Brothers, Goldman Sachs, Enron, Cargill and Rampart Capital. EDF Trading, a unit of Electricite de France, and Credit Agricole’s CIB unit had formed a partnership in May 2009 to offer the physical and financial hedging services to companies with high energy use.
