A consortium led by U.S. private equity investor, Thomas DiBenedetto, is set to acquire a controlling stake in Italian football club, AS Roma, Financial Times reports. DiBenedetto is in talks with Italy’s Sensi family and UniCredit for the acquisition.
The consortium, which includes hedge fund manager, James Pallotta, may take a 60% stake in a new holding company for the club. UniCredit will hold the remaining 40% stake in the club, which it may sell to Italian investors.
