Egypt’s Orascom Telecom is planning to double its capital to $2.35 billion from $1.2 billion, Reuters reports. The company is also planning to split itself into two separate companies. Orascom is seeking shareholder approval for its planned split and the capital increase. The proceeds from the capital increase are expected to be used by the company to repay its existing debt.
